| East is technically better, it has 2 more evs XD well, ill just write one set, i need to get back to teambuilding
Gastrodon @ Leftovers Ability: Storm Drain EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD Nature: Sassy/Calm ~ Earthquake / Earth Power ~ Ice Beam / Scald ~ Toxic ~ Recover This set is too generic to explain. The top 2 move slots are for attacking, you choose the attacks, toxic to stall and remove HP, and Recover for Healing. What really makes this set awesome is the ability; Storm Drain! weak to water attacks? B*tch Please, Gastrodon drinks it! and it will increase its Special Attack by +1 ( that'll tell kids to drink water instead of coke).
well, thats all i got to say about gastrodon, have fun using it

| Welp.. I think its time for an original set on the POTW for once. So heres a set I made a while ago that works pretty good.
252 HP/128 def/128 sp def Modest Leftovers Storm Drain
Surf/Scald Stockpile Recover Toxic
Basically the point of this set is to get up a few Stockpiles then tank everything the metagame can throw at you (barring grass) for example after you get to +3 not even a max attack banded Haxorus using Outrage can 2HKO you, doing 38.7-45.8% damage. So with that in mind you can see that once Gastrodon gets set up he could be a problem to take down without hax or a grass move. Now for the point of the moves, Surf/Scald is up to you, you can chose Surf for the little bonus power but I prefer Scald for the chance to burn physical beasts that might try to set up on you before you can take them down such as Dragonite or Haxorus. Stockpile is obvious for its ability to boost both defenses at once so its good for tanking. Recover is to restore HP for Gastrodon is still slow and you'll take some hits setting up. Toxic is just there to aid in the so destruction of the opposing team, possibly crippling a predicted grass type switch in to allow Gastrodon to be free later in the game. Either way some key pokemon to look out for when using Gasrodon are Ferrothorn who resists your Scald/Surf, is immune to toxic and will strike you hard with a Power Whip. Blissey/Chansey are also noticeable threats for they can Toxic you back then use Aromatherapy to heal their poisoning and the rest of their teams as well.
